The Executive Committee

The WMA Executive Committee is the governing body of the Warrap Medical Association. The committee is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Association and for implementing the decisions of the Council and General Assembly. The committee is also responsible for building relationships with other similar associations. The Executive Committee comprises nine members:

Chairman,
Deputy Chairman,
Secretary-General,
Secretary for Finance,
Deputy Secretary for Finance and Investment,
Secretary for Information,
Secretary for External and States Affairs,
Secretary for Academic Affairs, Scientific Research and Professional Development, and
Secretary for Social and Members Affairs.

The Executive Committee meets on a regular basis to discuss WMA business and make decisions. The Committee also holds meetings with other WMA bodies, such as the Council and General Assembly.

Functions of the ExCom

The Executive Committee (ExCom)is an important part of the WMA governance structure. It plays a vital role in ensuring that the WMA is able to effectively carry out its mission of promoting ethical standards and improving medical care around the world. The Functions of the Executive Committee shall be the following:

be the official representatives of WMA
nominate members to the South Sudan General Medical Council.
be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Association
implement the decisions of the Council and General Assembly
initiate and execute plans and policies of the Association
render Annual Reports to the Council and General Assembly
be accountable to the Council and General Assembly
form committee(s) for special purposes from members of the Association
recommend disciplinary measures on members to the Council
build relationships with other similar associations/Associations/organizations based on shared vision and mission
assign WMA representatives in specialized external committees/organizations upon request.
