The Assembly & Council

The General Assembly

The WMA General Assembly is the highest authority of the Association, consisting of all registered members. It holds various important functions, including passing the Constitution of the Association and electing members to the Council. Additionally, it has the power to approve plans, budgets, and reports of the Association sessions. The General Assembly also has the authority to dissolve the Council if a simple majority (50%+1) of the members approve. In case of dissatisfaction with the Council, it can call for a General Assembly Meeting through the approval of a simple majority (50%+1) of the members. Moreover, the General Assembly has the power to approve appeals or dismiss a member. Lastly, it is authorized to amend the Constitution of the Association.

The Council

The WMA Council is composed of twenty-five members elected from the General Assembly. This council has various functions, including the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Council, as well as the Chairman of the Executive Committee. The Council also has the authority to approve the members of the Executive Committee appointed by the Chairman. Additionally, they are responsible for approving the annual plans, budget, and reports of the Association. The Council plays a crucial role in supervising the activities of the Executive Committee and has the power to dissolve the committee with a two-third majority approval. Furthermore, the Council has the ability to form Specialized Committees within the WMA Council.
